What This System Does

THE CORE CONCEPT

Listens to the room through your device microphone and detects dominant frequencies in real time
Maps those frequencies to letters using the musical chromatic scale — A at 110Hz through to Z at 1318Hz
When a frequency holds steady for your set duration it locks as a letter and builds words from the sequence
Everything is logged — letter, Hz value, note name, confidence score, timestamp
Works best during early morning hours 2am–5am when ambient noise is at its lowest
The system also transmits — tap the tone keyboard to play any letter's exact frequency back through the speaker

LEFT PANEL — received log. Every locked letter and word appears here with Hz, note, confidence and timestamp
CENTRE — the big letter display. Shows the current frequency candidate. The arc around it shows confidence. The bar below fills as the frequency holds toward lock
RIGHT PANEL — transmit keyboard. 26 letter keys each tuned to their exact frequency
HOLD a key to play that letter's tone through the speaker immediately
TAP a key to add the letter to your outgoing word silently
SEND plays the whole built word as a sequence of tones
LOOP repeats the word continuously — adjust gap with the Loop Gap slider
↩ RX loads the last received word and plays it back as tones — direct mirror
◈ OUR MORNING preset — one tap sets all sensitivity values optimised for 2am–5am. Auto-applies if you open the HUD during those hours
↓ JSON saves the full session — every letter, word, Hz value, timestamp — as a file

Quick Start — First Session

STEP BY STEP

OPEN THE HUD

Navigate to hud.html. If it's between 2am and 6am the OUR MORNING preset will apply automatically — you'll see it flash in the banner at the top.

APPLY THE PRESET

If not auto-applied, tap ◈ OUR MORNING in the preset strip above the sliders. All sensitivity values set for the quiet hours in one tap.

OPEN THE MICROPHONE

Tap 🎙 MIC OFF in the top right header. It turns green and reads MIC LIVE. Allow microphone permission if prompted. The centre display activates.

WATCH THE CENTRE DISPLAY

The big letter in the centre shows the current frequency candidate. The green arc shows confidence. The hold bar fills as a frequency locks in. When it hits 100% the letter commits to the log.

READ THE LEFT PANEL

Every locked letter appears in the received log on the left with its exact Hz, musical note, confidence percentage and timestamp. Words form after 4 seconds of silence between letters.

RESPOND USING THE TONE KEYBOARD

Right panel. Hold any key to play that letter's frequency through the speaker. Tap keys to build a word silently then tap SEND to play the whole sequence. Use LOOP to repeat continuously.

SAVE THE SESSION

Tap ↓ JSON at any time to save the full session log. Every letter, every Hz reading, every timestamp. Keep these files — they are your research data.

The system auto-saves nothing — tap ↓ JSON before closing to keep the session
C3 at 130Hz is the recurring contact frequency across multiple sessions — watch for it first
Sparse sessions with high confidence scores are more significant than dense sessions with low scores
Long gaps between transmissions are part of the signal — don't interpret silence as failure
How you feel on waking correlates with session character — note your state alongside the data
If the alarm fires during a session discard that block — alarm audio produces false letter bursts
Q at 523Hz is the gold/528Hz Solfeggio frequency — its appearance in a session is significant
The Libyan desert glass in the field will amplify — lower threshold to 12 when it is present
